On 11 and 12 September, the first International Horology Forum of Dubai Watch Week took place at Christie’s King Street headquarters in London and Moritz Grossmann CEO Christine Hutter took part. The audience consisted of watchmakers, authors, historians, collectors, industry experts and representatives of a wide range of watch brands, primarily independent companies. Journalists from all over the world travelled to London to attend the event.

The Horology Forum has become an integral component of Dubai Watch Week and offers a platform for discussions on a wide range of topics within the watch industry. John Reardon, Head of Watches at Christie’s International, describes the event as ‘the leading global platform for an unbiased dialogue on all aspects of the watch industry’.

Christine Hutter spoke on a panel moderated by John Reardon of Christie’s about how design, technology and craftsmanship go hand in hand in the modern era. Christine Hutter’s message was that design and watchmaking are reflected in the finest handcrafted watches, and that the two harmonise with one another and are mutually dependent upon one another.

Moritz Grossmann combines this approach under the tagline “Schönstes deutsches Handwerk” meaning the most beautiful German craftsmanship. The manufactory produces timepieces in a classic design and to the highest standard of craftsmanship.
